UN Adopts Pak Motion Resolution of Self Determination

Indeed this can be considered good news for those nations, those are striving for the self determination. As there is different rules for different nations in this world. So the Philistines, & Kashmiries are fighting for their existence for a long time, there is history of sacrifices of thousands of lives of human being of philistines and kashmiries but the single power of the present era never wants to play its role to solve this matter, how is shameful act by US that it ruined the people of Egypt, Iraq Syeria, Afghinstan but it never practically did for philistines and Kashmiries. In spite of this, US only played its role where Non-Muslims wanted to get freedom, as we have seen in Indonesia. Powerful Media, awareness among masses, great development of technology but all is useless because here is nothing  regarding rule of law in the world, but only the power. Now we come to our point that is, a committee of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday adopted a Pakistan-sponsored resolution reaffirming that the universal realization of the right of people to self-determination was a fundamental condition for the effective guarantee and observance of human rights. The resolution, co-sponsored by 81 countries, was adopted by consensus in the Assembly’s Third Committee, which deals with social, humanitarian and cultural issues. Diplomatic observers say the resolution, which Pakistan has been tabling since 1981, serves to focus the world’s attention on the struggle by people for their inalienable right to self-determination, including those in Kashmir and Palestine. The resolution is expected to come up for General Assembly’s endorsement next month. The text also declared the 193-member body’s firm opposition to acts of foreign military intervention, aggression and occupation, since these have resulted in the suppression of the right of people to self-determination and other human rights in certain parts of the world. The resolution also called on those States responsible to cease immediately their military intervention in and occupation of foreign countries and territories, as well as all acts of repression, discrimination, exploitation and maltreatment. By further terms, the Assembly deplored the plight of millions of refugees and displaced persons who have been uprooted as a result of these acts and reaffirms their right to return to their homes voluntarily in safety and honour. It urged the Human Rights Council to give special attention to the violation of human rights, especially the right to self-determination, resulting from foreign military intervention, aggression or occupation. It also requests the Secretary-General to report to the next Session of the General Assembly on this question. Presenting the draft, Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Masood Khan highlighted the importance of the right of self-determination that enjoys primacy in international law as well as is the cornerstone of the UN charter and two international covenants. He said the exercise of this right had enabled many nations to achieve independence from colonial rules, foreign occupation and alien domination. The Pakistani envoy said the large number of sponsors reflected the importance of that right, upheld by all major summits, declarations and resolutions. The history shows that such resolutions have no practically any importance but we can say that better than nothing, Uk is follower of US, The present phase of this resolution is message of good gesture as human rights activists should loudly raise the voice for Kashmiries freedom and philistines also and other occupied areas where people are striving for their liberty.
